Surdel Girls Soccer Club is pleased to announce three new Coaches to assist Keith Kelly and the continued goal of Development for our young players within the Club.
Tiffany O'Krane comes to Surdel with a B Pre Provincial Coaching Certificiation and has spent time working with the ND Academy. Tiffany has played for Kwantlen College and is currently with Douglas College playing centrally on the back line or midfield. Tiffany's main purpose is to work with our U6 - U10 players Tuesday nights and Surdel is excited to see Tiffany out with our young players. Tiffany is taking her Bachelor of PE & Coaching (BPEC) at Douglas. Welcome Tiffany!
Jenna DiNunzio who is coming off her second straight Women's National Championship with Trinity Western University is in her 4th year and is taking her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing (BBA). Jenna has been a Surdel Player in her younger days and was also a White Cap Prospect Player while being recognized at a young age for her quality of play. Jenna has assisted throughout the Lower Mainland with the younger aged players and Surdel is excited to add Jenna to Wednesday night Prospects and our U8 & U9 Prospect groups. Welcome Jenna!
Sierra Monastersky is a Goal Keeper with our own U18 Venom at the Gold level of play in Div. 1. Sierra almost single handily got the Venom to the Provincials last season with a tremendous year in the goal and many clean sheets. Sierra's willingness to learn herself is shown by the many GK camps she has decided to attend on her own to improve her game so we know she is a great fit for Surdel and our young GK's. Sierra will be focusing on our U8 - U11 GK's who are looking to sharpen their skills and learn a few new things on Tuesday nights. We are pleased to see Sierra take this role on within Surdel. Welcome Sierra!

The U-14 Metro Delta Coastal Sting took Gold at the USA Cup in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The week long USA Cup is the largest youth soccer tournament in the Western Hemisphere with over 15,000 players from all over the world. The event is an absolute must as the Sting players met players from South America, Europe and Asia and the Olympic style opening ceremonies was an awesome experience for the team.
On the field an outstanding performance by the players saw them go 3-1 in the round robin portion of the tournament and finish second in their group. The players were then faced with the task of playing an additional knockout match and had to win the next four games to take the title. In the 100F+ heat, the Sting team did just that playing some outstanding soccer and ended up beating Minnesota Northern Lights 3-0 in the final. The team had the intent of going to the tournament to have a great experience, but bringing back some hardware was really the icing on the cake and was due to the players hard work and dedication.
The Delta Coastal Sting Champions are: Evalyn Drefko-Roberge, Sami Kaltenegger, Sydney Cervi, Kylie Robertson, McKenna Milos-Johnson, Taylor Russell, Mary Allworth, Ravneet Sandhar, Allison Scanks, Skye Moore, Samantha Lundquist, Meghan Lindsay, Maarja von Schulmann, Stephanie Pak, Riley Moore and Jamie Cornes. Well done ladies!!
Coaches Kevan Cornes, Wayne Trafton, Paul Costa and John Russell
