Welcome to the May 2007 Byte Size Coaching Newsletter.
Last month we were scrambling to make the April deadline and sent the newsletter out with only a quick proofread. Hence, one or two mistakes. We take solace in highlighting some other typo bloopers we found on the Internet. I think you will have a good laugh.
The re-engineering of the Byte Size Coaching program is moving on and now we have deadlines for completion – mid-July. If you are a Byte Size club, read the progress report.
Our featured club this month is one of our founder Byte Size Coaching organizations – the Henderson County Soccer Association. Henderson County is in the beautiful and historic Blue Ridge National Heritage Area in Western North Carolina, 22 miles south of Asheville, North Carolina.
It may seem a million miles from the Champions League Final in Athens last week between Liverpool and AC Milan and a clinic involving U11 girls at the Lakeshore Soccer Club in Montreal, but both situations produced the same results. In the Champions League Final two out or the three goals scored came from Set Plays. The two goals scored by the U11 girls in a 15-minute 7 vs. 7 end of session scrimmage also came from Set Plays. That seems to be telling us something.
Hope you enjoy this month’s edition and don’t hesitate to write in and let us know what else you would like to see.
In our last issue of the Byte Size Coaching Newsletter we had a number of typos. It was the result of trying to make the April deadline - in April! - and the proofreading wasn't all it should be.
It happens. Here's a sample of a few bloopers I picked up off the internet. Some of you may have seen these classics before.

We do not tear your clothing with machinery. We do it carefully by hand.

In an Acapulco hotel: The manager has personally passed all the water served here.
A week ago I was in Montreal conducting clinics with the Lakeshore Soccer Club, which is one of the few English speaking clubs in La Belle Province. Not that I needed to have worried about the language. Soccer is the world's language. It succeeds were Esperanto failed.
At the end of a session with U11 girls we played a 15-minutes 7-a-side game having earlier worked on the Principles of Team Play in 4vs.4 situations. It was to see if what we have practiced began to show in the bigger game. It did. But the interesting thing was two goals were scored during the short game - one from each team - and both came from corner kicks (which the coach and team work on in their practices) .
