The U17 Surdel Sting hosted Vancouver at Delsom park on November 16. Surdel started the first half with a lot of pressure on a Vancouver squad that was somewhat back on their heels. The pressure resulted in 3 balls of the crossbar and one off the goalpost but none of the shots found the back of the net. The Vancouver keeper made several spectacular saves to keep the score 0-0 at the half. In the second half the Sting started building chances through the midfield which resulted in several corner kicks. On one of the corner kicks Kelsey Taylor drove the ball into the area and in the ensuing play a handball was called. Lindsey Briggs made no mistake on the penalty kick putting the ball low and into the corner. Vancouver had one more chance to tie the game but were stopped when Chelsea Jewell made a brilliant save on a Vancouver shot from 10 yards out. Final Score 1-0 Surdel. This is Surdel's second shutout in a row.
