The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance released guidelines on the Children's Fitness Tax Credit. CPRA is pleased that Minister Flaherty adopted many of the recommendations of the Expert Panel including increasing support for children with disabilities. The tax credit will also recognize the many different kinds of programs in which children are enrolled and fees from camps, seasonal activities and family or individual memberships will also be eligible. According to the above link, the refund period is based on when the fees are paid, and not when the activity takes place. As a result, this refund is not applicable for the 2006/7 soccer season.
