Two of our SurDel rep teams are heading to their respective Provincial Championships which will both be running from July 5 - 8. The Metro U-13 SurDel Sting, fresh off their Coastal Cup championship victory, will be heading to Kamloops to partake in the Provincial A Cup Championship. The A Cup will be a four team round robin between the top three lower mainland teams and the Interior championship team. The Sting players will be looking to bring SurDel their first A Championship since the U-16 SurDel Sting team did so back in 2008. You can follow the Sting on their team website, surdelsting, as they will be posting game day action. Head coach Kevan Cornes has the team on a break right now but they will be coming back together in a few weeks to start training and some exhibition games leading up to their departure.
Meanwhile the Gold U-14 SurDel United squad will be heading up to Kelowna to pursue their championship dreams as they will be participating in an eight team round robin series to determine the Provincial B Cup Champion... The B Cup will see teams comprised from the Interior and Lower Mainland compete for the Provincial title. The team, under head coach Keith Johansson's guidance, will be looking to bring a long awaited B Championship Cup home as Surdel has yet to accomplish this feat going back to 1987. The United squad is pumped up and ready to show B.C. what it can do come July 5.
SurDel wants to wish the players, coaches and families a safe trip and we will be cheering the teams on in their pursuits of excellence.
