Surdel Girls Soccer Club honored the memory of Laura Szendrei at the commencement of our games on October 3, 2010.  We thank all the teams players, coaches and officials who participated in such an honoring for a soccer player that was dedicated, committed and a valuable member of our club.  Many players choose to wear a black arm band on this day to play their game in memory of Laura.  Our thoughts and prayers are extended to Laura's family.

As an ongoing tribute to honor Laura, Surdel Girls Soccer Club has retired her jersey #2.

In Memory of Miranda Scott

In memory of Miranda Scott, who passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010.

Miranda played for the Surdel Girls Soccer Club from U7 to U18 and will always be remembered for her big smile that she always had on her face.  She played hard and enjoyed playing soccer.  Our condolences to Miranda's family.  Miranda will always be remembered by her team mates and coaches (Paul Costa, Ed Pigeau and Paul O'Neil) that coached her during her time with the soccer club.

The Parent Trap - By Rick Gruneau

No I don’t mean the movie with Hayley Mills, nor the more recent remake with Lindsey Lohan. I'm referring to youth soccer. Anyone who has ever spent any time in youth soccer has seen parents who have fallen into the trap. We've seen the dads and mom’s who constantly complain aloud to anyone who'll listen that the coach is playing the wrong formation, doesn't have the right players in the right positions, or isn't training the team properly.
See the attachment for the remainder of this interesting article.

Coach feedback

Players and parents . . . At the end of the year, you are typically provided with a coaching feedback form. You can also provide anonymous feedback about your coach throughout the year. Please see the Soccer Coaching Evaluation page for more information.

Uniform sizes and care

Uniform issues must be coordinated with our equipment managers by the coach or team manager. Parents, please do not contact our equipment managers direct. Requests are handled weekly and must be submitted by your coach to our equipment managers by Friday morning. Our equipment managers will make every attempt to respond to all requests by the Saturday of the same week.

Please wash uniforms inside out and do not put them in the dryer. The logo and number will last longer, saving the club replacement costs if they are hung to dry.
